Ethan Leifer has been rising at a remarkable
pace throughout the world of Jewish music. Although his love
of singing an dmusic has been apparent since childhood, his
career began in 1996 at Colden Center when he was invited
up on stage to sing a duet with Dedi at a concert sponsered
by the Young Israel of Hillcrest, NY. Since that day, ethan's
popularity has soared.
Ethan brings to the stage a rare and dynamic performance style.
His rich magnificent voice, energy and charisma capture attention,
dazzling audiences. Many congregations have listened silently
at the awe-inspiring cantations of Ethan as he led them in
prayer.
His debut album, Ranenu, which is produced by world-renowned
pianist, Yaron Gershovsky, has been rapidly selling out in
stores throughout the United States and Europe. Ethan's songs
contain a wide variety of musical styles including Latin,
Middle Eastern, freilach and Jewish Rock. They introduce the
listener to a unique assortment of melodies and styles never
before heard together on the same album. Songs such as "Ad
Anah" and "V'haer Eyneynu" have ranked high
on Nachum Segal's top countdown lists of Jewish music.
In addition to performing on such stages as The Westbury Music
Fair, and Cami Hall, Ethan has had the distinct honor of appearing
with well-known performers Avraham Fried, David Dudu Fisher,
Dedi, Shlomie Dachs and Yehudah!. Ethan is currently working
on a new album and many other exciting projects.
For over four years Ethan has been serving as the cantor of
Temple Beth El of Cedarhurst. His unique style continues to
fill the sactuary as his renditions are both inspiring and
uplifting. He has been written up in the local newspapers
as well as The Jewish Week. Ethan has had the privilege of
performing withsome of the world's most famous cantors including
Moshe Stern, Bentzion Miller, and Yaakov Motzen.
